I have a first-class honours degree in Mathematics and Physics. I qualified to be a teacher through the Graduate Teacher Program. I am registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. I have a current PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate (equivalent to the English enhanced DBS scheme).
I am a dedicated secondary school mathematics teacher with twenty years of experience teaching KS3, KS4, A level and International Baccalaureate students across a wide range of abilities, including SEN. I was head of Mathematics for ten years. I have also tutored many students both in person and online.
I have a proven track record of achieving excellent results. I help students reach their potential by setting challenging but attainable tasks that match their ability and by giving appropriate feedback and encouragement.
I am an Explorer Scout Leader and a qualified mountain leader. I love the outdoors, and I spend as much time as possible hiking and cycling. I have taught myself several computer languages and I spend a lot of time coding. My wife and I enjoy exploring the highlands and islands of Scotland.
